Gareth Southgate’s squad are back together for the third time in as many months as they prepare to face Andorra, again, in qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
Where to watch:
England will be in action away at Andorra, with only a limit amount of away fans available to watch in person. For those at home, the game will be shown live on ITV or STV in Scotland. The game kicks off at 19:45 so coverage will start at 19:00.
Last time out:
England faced Andorra in the last international break, The Three Lions came out 4-0 winners and a similar score line will be expected this time.
Southagte played a heavily rotated team and even tried the experiment he’s wanted to do for a while – Trent Alexander Arnold in midfield. Trent performed well but moved back to his natural right-back position when Reece James was substituted for Jack Grealish in the 62nd minute.
Bukayo Saka and Jesse Lingard both impressed with Lingard grabbing two goals and one assist, Saka also bagged himself an goal and assist.
What to expect:
As a result of a ‘tougher’ game just three days later at Wembley, Southgate will probably field a team with players that maybe wouldn’t make his first choice 11. Players such as Fikayo Tomori, James Ward-Prowse and Ollie Watkins will all most probably get their chance to impress the manager ahead of next winter’s World-Cup.
It should, fingers crossed, be a relatively smooth game for England. They’ll control possession and create most of the ‘big chances.’
